Dr. Lyons is a Sports and Orthopedic Medicine specialist who specializes in treating patients with a wide variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. The son of a family physician, he strongly believes in developing continuity and providing personalized care with his patients, treating every patient as a unique individual and not as a single joint or complaint. He completed his medical school training at Temple University Medical School and his medical residency training at the University of Pennsylvania where he was named Chief Resident.

Growing up in the Philadelphia area, he stayed at home when he decided to complete his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and subsequently went on to publish book chapters and journal articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals covering a variety of topics including concussions, the shoulder, osteoporosis, and the female athlete triad. He has had the unique opportunity to serve as a Team Physician for all levels of sport from high school, to NCAA Division 1, to professional working with Philadelphia’s professional football and hockey teams.

Dr. Lyons is a member of both the American Medical Association and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine where he has been a presenter at their annual national conference. His area of expertise include knees, shoulders, hips, back, spine, neck, elbow, ankle, ultrasound, concussion, regenerative medicine, and stem cell therapy.
